A CELEBRATION awards’ night was held virtually when the best Rossendale businesses were acknowledged for their hard work in 2020. This year’s Rossendale Business Awards were held virtually as a Facebook Live event on Wednesday December 2. Shooters Media had filmed organisers and sponsors announcing the winners at The Boo in Waterfoot, and created a video screened before an online Valley at Work celebration Zoom meeting.
This year’s shining star was Anna’s Café-Bar at Weir which not only won the most inspirational business title – the Valley at Work Award – but owner Anna Federici won the Enterprising Person title and the business also won the Food and Drink and Medium Business titles.
Rob Carder, Chair of organisers Valley at Work which connects local businesses, said: “The submissions we received were incredible. The fortitude and determination shown by our local businesses to strive to thrive while also helping each other shone out in the entries. Yes 2020 will go down in history as one of the toughest year’s in our lifetimes, but it also allowed people to show their strengths and none more so than our amazing Rossendale businesses.”
